Breathing, breathless, the love filled his lungs and
drowned him--he couldn't speak, couldn't speak!
How could he? When she lay there, breasts gently
rising and falling with the steady rhythm of their
hearts, beating together; when her face was so
close to his seeking lips, how could he dare to speak?
Make a noise, lest it woke her from her sweet,
golden-hued dreams?
Kissing, kissing, he pressed those seeking lips to
her eyes, her cheeks--the softness under her
ears. Irresistible; he did so with a butterfly's touch,
the flitting of wings through the golden flowers
of her reverie.
Gather, gather, he took her in his arms,
cradelling her lolling head, fingers in her fragrant
hair. His hands shook with care; their skins sighed
a sweet melody together, and she curled to him,
where his arms were her temple, his warmth
her sky.
Holding, held, their limbs tied to one anothers'
like red silk ribbons, fashioned with love, and
he breathed.
There, they were there, together, and whole.
How could he bear to let her go?
How could he bear to let go?
drowned him--he couldn't speak, couldn't speak!

Society's Fix
"Society's Fix"
by Taylor Colbert
"Are you depressed?
Here's a pill.
Are you crazy?
Here's a pill.
Are you hurting?
Here's a pill.
Are you fat?
Here's a pill.
Are you skinny?
Here's a pill.
Oh, you want a pill for
no good reason? Here you go!
Hey there, my name is society!
I'm here to give you some pills.
There's nothing wrong with you, you say?
Oh, well that doesn't matter!
After you take this, there'll be
plenty wrong with you!
And what do you do then? That's simple!
You come to me and I will give you "legal"
pills that are basically no better than
the illegal stuff.
I, society, will fix you.
I will create your pro

Don't Even Try
You don't need to understand me.
You don't need to bore into my eyes and look past my old, smudged lenses. Don't push your way through my murky irises of swampland hazel and throw yourself down the rabbit hole. There's no point it tip-toeing on my wire-thin nerves and crawling across blood vessels. Because once you reach my oh-so guarded brain, make your way around terrifying gun fire and through fields of barbed wire, dig your way around my mass of delusions, lies, and fog of medication; there's nothing.
At least, nothing you can understand. My brain is a jumble of computer codes and endless data, and I do not know the password. It's a jum

Truths and Lies
Vertebrae are just
pebbles on a rope
sliding in the back;
grinding with one another,
cracking in unison.
Lungs are just
swollen balloons;
filled with hacked-up
spit from tainted breath.
Fingers are just
electric strings;
pinched,
nerve-numbed.
The voice is just
a retching, noisy
gurgle, full of
hopelessness, lying in wait
to be smothered.

I find that flash poetry hits me best in first period.
This can apply to any one... and any one of my OCs, lol. I had two of them in mind, but now that I think about it, it applies to a lot of people.
Heterosexual romance Though homos can apply. Enjoy.
It's alright; she will hold on to you. You won't find her falling even if your holding slips loose.
